The Tokat Provincial Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate (AFAD) organized a comprehensive training program on Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) threats for students of the Civil Defense and Firefighting Program.

The training, conducted in two phases – theoretical and practical – aimed to increase disaster and emergency response capacity and improve students' knowledge and awareness of CBRN incidents.

The theoretical part of the program covered detailed information on the properties of CBRN substances, their mechanisms of action, risk analysis, incident scene management, the use of personal protective equipment, and decontamination processes. In the practical exercise phase, students experienced a scenario-based CBRN incident response process, observing and practicing the use of protective equipment and field safety procedures.

The training aimed to strengthen students' professional competencies and develop their conscious and coordinated response skills to potential CBRN incidents.

Tokat AFAD officials emphasized the importance of inter-institutional cooperation in disaster preparedness and response processes, stating that practical training activities will continue.
