Within the scope of March 1–7 Earthquake Week, an “Earthquake, Fire and Evacuation Drill” was organized at the Niksar dormitory of the Credit and Dormitories Institution (KYK). Academicians and students from the Civil Defense and Firefighting Program participated in the drill.

Teams from Tokat AFAD and the Niksar Fire Department also supported the exercise. According to the scenario, an earthquake situation was simulated, followed by the implementation of the building evacuation process. Subsequently, fire response procedures and safe assembly protocols were practiced. Through the drill, our students had the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge on disaster and emergency management in a real-life field setting.

The exercise, carried out with the aim of raising earthquake awareness, teaching proper evacuation procedures, and strengthening inter-institutional coordination, was successfully completed.
