Within the scope of March 1–7 Earthquake Week, an Earthquake, Fire and Evacuation Drill was conducted for students of Niksar TOBB Primary and Secondary School by the academicians and students of our Civil Defense and Firefighting Program.

As part of the activity, both theoretical and practical trainings were provided to raise students’ awareness of disasters and emergencies. During the training sessions, students were informed about appropriate behavior during earthquakes, fire safety, the importance of staying calm in emergency situations, and safe evacuation procedures.

Following the theoretical briefing, a drill was carried out in which students practiced the “Drop–Cover–Hold On” technique to be applied during an earthquake. They then safely evacuated their classrooms and gathered at the designated assembly area in the schoolyard.

Through the drill, it was aimed to help students learn appropriate responses to disasters and emergencies while increasing their awareness. The activity was followed with great interest by the students.

Officials from our Civil Defense and Firefighting Program emphasized the importance of building disaster awareness from an early age and stated that such educational and training activities will continue in the future. 🚒🏫🔥
