Our school hosted a significant multi-stakeholder event aimed at building a healthy campus environment and raising awareness among young people about the risks of addiction. The program, titled “University-Based Education Model in Combating Addiction: Awareness, Prevention, and a Healthy Campus Approach,” was held in our conference hall with a large number of participants.

The event brought together academics, health professionals, security forces, and representatives of civil society organizations on the same platform, addressing the multifaceted nature of the fight against addiction. During the program, Coordinator Dr. Tuğba Dağdeviren, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hıdır Polat, Dr. Batuhan Öztürk, Dr. Emre Bülbül, Dr. Onur Ergül, and Lecturer Kübra Gürel gave comprehensive presentations on the academic and medical aspects of the issue, while Psychologist Özer Ulusoy highlighted the psychological dynamics of addiction and coping strategies.

Officials actively working in the field also shared their experiences to increase awareness among students. Police Officer Samet Çelik from the Provincial Police Department's Narcotics Unit discussed substance abuse and the operational processes carried out by the police; while Aziz Dörtkardeş from the Gendarmerie Command's Cyber Crimes Unit informed students about the digital dangers on the dark side of technology and the internet. Also participating in the program was Nurper Abay, Head of the Green Crescent Branch, who introduced the vision of civil society in preventing addiction and the support mechanisms they offer to young people.

The training program, held simultaneously in two separate halls and attracting significant interest from our students, academic and administrative staff, was successfully completed, emphasizing the importance of a comprehensive fight against addiction and interdisciplinary cooperation. We thank the educators who contributed to this valuable program, which raised awareness for a healthy future.
